Our Historical Collection consists of wonderful books from our past written by some of the best authors and historians of the 19th
and 20th centuries. These books were great works when they were first published and they are still full of great stories today. Our
intent is to preserve these stories and make them available to the modern day reader. Much of the contents of these books are not
taught in today's classrooms, unless one is enrolled in a college history course, and we consider that a tragedy. We feel that the
average American has a desire and a need to know what their ancestors went through, their thoughts, what they accomplished and
the tragedies and hardships they faced in building this great nation. The greater majority of these books are historical fact. There
are some fictional books, but the stories in them clearly describe the era in which the characters and story are set and give the
reader a good look at what it was like to live in those times. We have also included some very interesting books on American sports,
they way the games used to be played.
These books are transcribed from the originals and every effort is made to make sure the author’s original content is left intact.
Only minor grammatical and spelling errors are corrected and only when those corrections do not alter the author’s thoughts or
portrayal of situations and events he is describing. Original photos and illustrations are cleaned up and enhanced for better viewing.
BPC also adds photos and illustrations to compliment the author’s story. BPC will sometimes make annotations to clarify events or
to correct an erroneous description of an event.
